The EARfoon hearing protectors can be made in hard acrylic material or in soft Biopor material. The acrylic models are highly durable and easy to clean, which makes them ideal from a hygienic viewpoint. The soft Biopor model can offer a solution for sensitive ears or what are known as “straight auditory channels”. Because Biopor material is somewhat rougher, the hearing protector is slightly more difficult to place in the ear, but also comes out of the ear less easily. “Normal” auditory channels have a first and second bend where the hearing protector can nestle so that it does not fall out of the ear.
There is only any point in having hearing protectors if they are actually worn. That means that they must have a firm fit and be experienced as comfortable. That underlines the vital importance of the mould of the auditory passage that is made: it guarantees a pleasantly fitting hearing protector to a large extent, regardless of which material is used. It is also important to make sure that the wearer can understand speech in combination with very good noise reduction. The personal hearing protectors of EARmo, the EARfoons, meet these requirements.
